Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American performer and actress. She started by releasing funny, well-written music that tackled questions of racial identity as well as sexuality. Later, she broadened her fan base to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first musical encounter. She played the trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop training began as she was in her teens. While in college, she focused on her studies. She majored both in women's study as well as journalism. For a brief period of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. When she graduated, she started to pursue music as her main focus. The track My Vag which was her response to Mickey Avalons My Dick, became a popular viral sensation on the Internet and was later featured on her debut LP Yellow Ranger. The album featured other popular hits, including the body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$1. The track that was published is directly linked to the album The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. In addition to having published a book, her other career was singing. Her film credits include films such as Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she got several notable roles including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she dropped her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
